Annuli 39th Annual Duncan Gilchrist Photo Contest Is Now Open!

Without a doubt, the wild sheep community has an eye for and an appreciation for outstanding wildlife and hunting photography.

For 2027, we refined the categories to better reflect the stories behind the images. Photographers can submit to Live Sheep and Goats (North American and international), Hunter in the Field (packing in or out, camp life, and field photos), Sheep Country (mountain hunting scenery and landscapes), and Wildlife (species other than wild sheep and goats). The 39th Duncan Gilchrist Annuli Photo Contest is now open, use the form below to submit your images and share the landscapes, wildlife, and experiences that define your time outdoors.

Submission Guidelines

The Annuli Photo Contest rules and regulations.

Photographers entering this contest must have an account on the Wild Sheep Foundation website (free).
Image Specifications:
1. Accepted file formats include: JPEG, PNG, and TIF files.
2. Images must be high resolution (thumbnails and screenshots not accepted)
The following categories are open for submissions:

Live Sheep and Goats (North American and International)
Hunter in the Field (Packing in/out, camp, field photos, etc.)
Sheep Country (Mountain hunting landscapes)
Wildlife (Other than wild sheep and goats)

AI or Photoshopped (beyond typical editing) photos are not acceptable. Overly manipulated images may be disqualified at the judges’ discretion.
Please limit your number of entries to five (5) per category.
Do not submit an image in more than one category, including the open category. Duplicates will be removed.
The deadline for submissions is December 31, annually.
